To call Marco Argiro a singer-songwriter feels like a bit of an understatement. The hyper-prolific musician recently released a new solo EP “Brooklynville” — his second solo effort — recorded, appropriately enough, in his Brooklyn studio in between tour dates with not one but two bands.
His band Le Mood crafts melodic, infectious tunes that you may recognize from MTV’s The Real World, CMT’s Summer of Music or IFC’s Dinner with the Band. Le Mood’s songs practically dare you not to dance!
As for The Killing Floor, the transatlantic rock collaboration formed in 2009, well they just flat out rock. Hard. Superhard. Uberhard. Check out the video for The Killing Floors “Shout” (shot during their UK tour) or their latest video promo directed by Joel Schumacher for “Star Baby”.
Marco performed last month in a multi-musician evening curated by Entwine’s Karla Moheno (who most of you know from her bands The Tickled Pinks and Morricone Youth), and we all agreed we wanted more!
So this Friday, July 7, Marco Argiro is LIVE @ Subtwine. What better way to spend what is anticipated to be a sweltering summer evening than cooling off with a cocktail at Subtwine — the West Village-meets-Meatpacking District’s most intimate performance space — and rocking out to Marco Argiro? So looking forward to seeing you on Friday!
